I'm afraid of losing thousands of $ in Xbox games...

I have had a Microsoft/Xbox account for over a decade at snowshoe22@... I tried to login to use Skype with it while traveling in Europe. It went into full security freakout and locked down the account.

This was made worse by the fact that I had neglected to change my cell phone number for the account to my new number before leaving the U.S.
I was directed to complete the Account Verification Form. I've done it twice. It's pages long and asks for a lot of information, which I have filled out accurately. But the form is still
being refused. It cannot be because of the information I have submitted because it is voluminous and accurate. It can only imagine because
I'm in Europe and using a different computer.

The Catch 22 is that I apparently cannot talk to, chat or email anyone at Microsoft without being logged in. And I am seriously locked out from that account. I made this new account only to seek help.

One of the things I wanted to log in for was to cancel or suspend the ongoing monthly billing for Game Pass Ultimate since I cannot use it because I am in Europe until September and don't have a gaming
PC or Xbox. So this lockout is costing me money as well as frustration. I am also worried that I will lose thousands of dollars in Xbox games purchased over the years.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks, that worked -- sort of. I was able to restore access to the original account, and even get them to cancel and refund Game Pass Ultimate for part of the time I was locked out. But they claimed my account was not locked for security challenge, even
though I have an email from MS saying it was and I had been unable to log in to it for weeks.

Also, now that I have access to it, I cannot change the cell phone verification number or add an email without clicking the "I don't have that info" link -- which is what caused this entire month-long nightmare in the first place. I don't have the stomach
for trying it, so the original problem remains if I ever try to log in from a strange IP or something else the AI doesn't like.

The most outrageous thing was that the only way to talk to MS about the lockout was to create an entirely new account. That's unacceptable. I once read a magazine article that said something to the effect that "One of MS's greatest achievements is its relationship
with Xbox customers." Unfortunately, they ruined the relationship with me. I wish I could just cancel the account but unfortunately all those Xbox games I've bought are tied to it. I did promise them and myself that I will never spend another penny with MS,
ever -- no games or subscriptions, no Xboxes or other hardware, no Office applications ... nothing. I see no other way to respond to this. It was literally hours and hours of frustration and cost money to boot. All because I changed my phone number and neglected
to notify them.

I'm afraid not, if you lose access to your account, you also lose access to your purchases and other account data. The only option would be to buy the game again.

It's not installed in the sense that killswitch was saying to me. I've only ever just put discs in and played them. If I delete the game file though, won't I lose my saved game history as well? I'm also afraid of losing the Premium download I purchased.
