I'm absolutely unable to download doom eternal through the xbox app.

A while ago, I had done a playthrough of doom eternal, but I quit halfway. Recently, I went to play again and it said that it wasnt downloaded. When I hit download, the whole thing downloaded in less than a second (the game is 89.5 gigabytes). But the download bar turned orange and said error 100%. When i clicked on 'see error details' it gave me the error code 0x80073d0d. When I searched up the code, it had no information on the problem. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling various apps to try and get it to work. I concluded that the computer must think I have it installed, but i didn't think so. I did a full file search of every file on every hardrive for the word doom, in any file. The only thing it found was the doom horn music from forza horizon 5, a game which i deleted a long time ago. When I tried to look at the files, it said they didnt exist. Please can I get some help? throughout the entire internet I can't find anyone else who has this problem.

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Repair the Gaming Services app and Xbox app.

Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps Features. Select Gaming Services, then click Advanced options. Click the repair button, do the same for the Xbox app, try downloading the game after that and see if it works.

Solution 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Gaming Services App

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Restart your device and try to install the game again.

Solution 3: Try installing the game on a different drive.

Please go to Settings > System > Storage > Advanced Storage settings > Where new content is saved.

Try setting the app installation there to a different drive then try installing the game and see if it works.

I was able to solve this. My Xbox app on PC showed a new update for Doom Eternal. But clicking Update in that app didn't do anything.

On opening the Microsoft Store and going to updates, it listed the Doom Eternal update along with a few others. I did a Update all and to my surprise all apps, except Doom Eternal got updated and it remained in my queue.

Then I clicked Get Updates. It found a few more apps to update and this time Doom Eternal update started downloading too. No idea what the trigger is though.

Instead of installing the game through the Xbox Game Pass tab, can you please manually search for the game on Microsoft Store App and try to install them from there?
