I'm 19. Why does Xbox not allow me to sign in without a parent finishing set up?

My account was working fine a couple of weeks ago. Today, I booted up my Xbox and signed into Live, only to get immediately signed out. When I then tried to sign back in, I was told I needed my Mom or Dad or parental guardian to help finish set up.

I've had my Xbox since as long as the original model has been out.

So I assign the account to my main email (this email) and think "Hey, I'll just remove it immediately". I do just this, and my account gets signed out on the Xbox immediately, getting the same set up message again. Checking the family site results in an error,
so I followed my previous steps, left out the removal, and looked for ways to promote my account to Adult from there, despite already being 19 and not being assigned to a family prior. Cool.

So I go to the Xbox settings page as recommended, and am told I need to update my security info. I do this, and am promptly told I won't be able to access the site until March 13th.

I don't even have this much security on my bank account Why on Earth is it so hard to fix this problem?

Not able to allow "broadcast gameplay".

I'm not able to allow "broadcast gameplay" in the privacy settings, it doesn't change from "block" when I set it after I sign into a parent account. Help?

Can't sign into xbox live

Gninja10 can no longer sign into xbox live on console or xbox.com sine we upgraded xbox software on Dec 13. When parent logs into xbox.com, I do not see anything that will allow me to gninja10 permission. It also says my account is not a parent account,
even though I set it up a year ago. The parent GT is . Please help.

OK that's not how promotion of account works

The age of an account is set when the account is created not what you edited it to or what email you change it after

You only put your new email under your patents control

Only after reaching the age of 18 can you promote an account no sooner

Netflix needs to allow access to profiles set up as kids without requiring parental control password. Not sure why this is so hard to do.

Hi there!

I'm sorry that this has been happening. There are settings in the console that allow passwords to be set up if purchasing is to be made on the console. Parental Controls can be set up either on the console or through Xbox.com and using the Xbox Live account
that is used to sign into the console and make purchases.

Also having the same issue only mines slightly different. Couldn't remember parental ID even though god knows why i need to since i'm 19 and have already promoted my account once before.

Also you can usually accept the terms and conditions using the website without parental ID but when i tried it this time it just signs me out again and again after i click accept.

Pretty sure we aren't the only ones.
