    If you think your account has been hacked


    There are two reasons why you might think your account has been hacked:

    1. You may have received a message from Microsoft that says, “Help us secure your account,” which means we have seen activity on your account that’s out of the ordinary enough for us to take measures to lock down your account until you can take action.
    2. You’ve seen activity such as unauthorized charges, spam being sent to your contact list, unrecognized names in your file sharing, etc.
    If neither of those sounds like your situation, visit You can't sign in to your Microsoft account.

    If you think that you’ve been hacked, reset your password right away.

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com.
    2. Choose the Security tab.
    3. Choose Change my Password.

    If you can’t sign in because you can’t remember your password or believe it may have been changed, go to: Reset or recover your lost Microsoft account password.

    Account charges

    When you see unexpected charges from Microsoft in a statement from your bank, credit card, or any other payment provider, we want to help you resolve your question as quickly as possible. Check out this article: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.

    If you don’t recognize charges on your account and there are charges within your banking institution, you should contact your banking institution to investigate the charges.

    Well, if that is what you think, then call Xbox Support to see if there has been some hacking activity in your account.

    I think they might not allow you to be on live once they check to see if someone did hack your account.
