If you pre-order Starfield deluxe upgrade on the Xbox store, can you use that with Gamepass?

You can play on September 1 if you purchase Deluxe Edition, or the deluxe upgrade to go with your game pass subscription

Everyone who does not purchase the deluxe can play on September 6

There's no direct upgrade for your pre-ordered edition. You must cancel the pre-order of Standard Edition and pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition.

You can go here to view the full explanation of pre-ordering games on the xbox/Microsoft store on xbox. It even has a troubleshooter so see if it
can help you. If nothing is helpful, I would contact Microsoft directly to see if they can upgrade you to a Gold Edition and maybe you will have to pay a additional fee
for the price difference, but I am sure there has to be a why to do it. I know in stores I have changed my mind and upgraded from a basic pre-order to a better pre-order. or even vis versa.
