If my service provider doesn't have IPv6 am I screwed?

What exactly is your Xbox console model? If your network connection from your ISP doesn't support IPv6, it should still work on IPv4.

May I exactly know the issue of your console network connectivity?

It really depends on your Internet Service Providers network, Not all of them Support IPv6 currently and it also depends if it is active in your area.

I am with BT, they have started the rollout of IPv6 but it only works with the Hubs 5 & 6 but it's not enabled in my area as of yet.

The best thing to do is contact your service provider and see if your hardware is compatible and if it's enabled in the area.

The only benefits of having IPv6 is to resolve NAT issues and a bit more security.

I have the same problem mines wired to and my internets fine but mine dont say ipv4 and 6 mine just says ipv4 is that a problem

It doesn't matter if you're assigned an native IPv6 address from your service provider, or not.

Yes, Xbox recognizes IPV6, but it's no use much for your provider to have IPV6 active, then the other nodes that the data will go through and also the game's target server doesn't have it active.

Ideally, and what I have done even on my home network, is to disable the IPV6 protocol on the modem router and leave only IPV4 by definition.

You'll have to check if your Router/Gateway modem supports IPv6. If it does, you need to also check with your Internet Provider if they support IPv6 natively. If they don't you might have to sign up for a Tunnel Broker Service to be able to use IPv6, if
your home network is IPv6 capable and your router can use the service of such a Tunnel Broker.
