    In addition, if you are logged in with the same profile on Windows 10 and have the Windows Xbox Game Bar installed - it should be by default - this in turn will keep your account active.

    Yes, logging in to your Microsoft account on the website will count towards making sure your account is not marked as "inactive".

    You should be able to find out the reason for the enforcement action through the
    Xbox Enforcement web site. Please note you will probably have to to get your son to sign into his account on this web site and it will provide information on the enforcement taken by Microsoft.
