If i restore factory defaults with out keeping games on my xbox, can i sign in to get it back?

Resetting your console to factory settings won’t have an impact on your games or subscriptions as long as you are able to sign back into the account you used to purchase them. Please note that performing a factory reset will remove all accounts from your console, so it’s important you know the login information for each of them.

Regarding your console's update problem:

- May I ask which Xbox model you are using?

- Is your console enrolled in the Xbox Insider program?

- Do you have any external storage units plugged into your console?

- Have you already tried performing an offline system update?

I believe that there is currently a known issue about My Home Xbox settings.

You can try to restore your console back to factory defaults (Keep My Games and Apps) as a workaround. It worked for some.

ok so i found somewhat of a solution, i have to sign out of xbox live and then sign in as i am starting up a game, i get disconnected from my internet when i go to the dashboard, so should i just restore to the factory default or something else

Hi, it may be there is some corrupted data, a factory restore can often fix that problem, be sure to select the option to keep your games & apps though.

You will need to add any accounts back to the Xbox after doing the restore.

Hi, the first thing I would suggest is to sign out of and back into your account on the Xbox, if that doesn't help try removing and adding your account back to the Xbox.

The next thing I would try is to eject any disc that is in the drive, press and hold the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds, the Xbox will power off, disconnect the power supply from the mains power outlet for around 5 minutes, reconnect the power supply
and power the Xbox on and try the games again.

Should that not help then a factory restore using the option to keep your games & apps would be the next step. Worst case scenario would be a full factory restore but try the option to keep your games & apps first.

I would say the factory restore option would be the best option.
