    If I reset my Console and choose to keep my games and apps, does it still remove my profile...


    I am thinking of resetting my console to see if it will clear the cache from the xbox, cause a lot of sources say that is one of the ways to clear the cache, but when I click on it, it says it would remove the profiles, but also has the option to keep games and apps. So would it still remove my profiles and others if I choose to keep my games and apps?

    I have seen other methods of clearing cache such as going to the blue ray and deleting the Persistant Storage stuff, but I feel like that is for those who use discs or watch blue ray movies. Which I do not. Another one was called Power Cycling, which is shutting down the console, unplugging it for a few minutes, plugging it back in, and holding the power button for 10 seconds then turning it back on. I don't know if any of these actually work or not, I have attempted the power cycle one, but not sure if it actually worked or not.

    I understand your concern. If you will factory reset your console, you will have to login your account/s again. This is the case even if you choose to keep games and apps.

    When I want to clear cache I just do power cycle where you unplug the console for a few minutes.

    Removing my profile by going into settings, choosing the option to Keep games and apps and then resetting the console, followed by resigning into my account and completing the initial console setup worked. I started Assassins Creed with my current Account
    already selected and signed in, Thank you.

    That's odd. My suggestion here is to perform a factory reset instead to remove potentially corrupted data on your console and to refresh your system. There's an option to keep your games and apps.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
    Select Reset console.
    On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    If you have already performed a reset did you choose to keep my games and apps or removed anything? If you choose keep my games and apps the last resort will be to reset it and remove everything.

    You will be needing to install your games and apps again but I am positive that this will fix the issue.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and remove everything.
