    If I remove an email, will I retain my purchased apps?


    My recent email was hacked but I recovered it but I'm still afraid the hacker might still be in my account. I'm changing my primary email on microsoft to another one. However I'm afraid of losing any of my purchased apps and games. If I remove my previous email and use the other, will I retain my purchased apps in the new email? I'm not sure if I changed it the right way but I will be awaiting answers.

    If you purchased apps using your Microsoft account. All apps are saved on your account's library. You will not be able to install again the apps you purchased if you delete your account.

    I'm having this issue too and unfortunately it is emailing the code to email address that I removed from my account awhile ago and no longer have access.

    Called xbox support and they gave me a case number but so far can't buy points or activate gold status again.

    Support said it had something to do with my old xbox hardware and retaining my old address.

    This isn't the best medium of exchange for complicated items like this. Your focus is on the original email address, when I am trying to understand what happens after I remove that. Let's start this much simpler.

    Gameplan

    Part 1

    1. Create new email address for my son (WHITE) and add that to a new 'alias' on original Microsoft Account (RED)

    2. Promote that new 'alias' (WHITE) to Primary on Microsoft Account (RED)

    3. Delete original 'primary alias' (BROWN)

    Is the data retained, including game purchases, progress, achievements, etc.???
