If you purchase a $15 Xbox Gift Card in the United States you will only be able to redeem that card on a US account.

If you plan on sending it to Mexico, the person redeeming will not be able to use a US card on a Mexican account.

Since the codes were accidentally redeemed on your account, you can still game share it on your nephew's console, only if the digital gift card is an Xbox game. In that way, he can still be able to play the game.

Here is how:

Sign in to your Microsoft account where the codes were redeemed.

Press the Xbox menu button.

Go to settings > Personalization > My Home Xbox > then set this account as Home Xbox

This way, all of the game and subscriptions under your account will be shared to all of the accounts that will be using the console.

As for your question, yes you can purchase and send it as a gift by clicking the "Buy this as a gift" feature on the Xbox store.

I also purchased a $50 Xbox gift card and when I tried to redeem the code it says it was already redeemed. I've tried the troubleshooting method and contacting the store I purchased it from via email and I have yet to get a solution. I'm "glad" someone else is having this issue.
