if I play a game on xbox game pass and i want to buy it with same progression can i buy it...

So hypothetically speaking, if I buy ultimate game pass, I will be able to play the same progress, right?

No worries, our Game progress are linked to our Microsoft account itself which means that as long as you're using the same Microsoft account in playing the game through Game Pass before, you should be able to continue where you left off once you purchase the game on Microsoft Store as well.

Your save data will carry over as long as you are using the same account you played on earlier. Your data will carry over for both digital (from the Xbox/Microsoft Store) and physical version (disc from anywhere) of the game.

I recently discontinued my game pass. I enjoyed my experience but didnt want to continue. But i still want to play dead by daylight, the game pass offers its special edition. I was look for versions to buy and found the nightmare edition, which
contains more killers and survivors than the special edition. I am worried that if i buy the nightmare edition that i will lose my game progress on the special edition version. Will the game data carry over or not?

I haven't played that game but it sounds like a lot like Friday the 13th, which I do play. Since its the same game just different content, your game progression will carry over, you'll just lose the content with that addition you're replacing.
