    If i own minecraft bedrock edition on a console am i eligible for minecraft java?


    While i was playing minecraft on nintendo switch a popup appeared saying that if i owned minecraft bedrock I was eligible for a free copy of minecraft java edition. I understand that Minecraft for nintendo switch is bedrock edition. However while searching the web all the sites told me that it was referring to bedrock for windows 10. Is it referring to all bedrock devices or just windows 10?

    I'm being asked to buy Minecraft: Java and Bedrock edition although I have already owned Bedrock for years and I have Java on my laptop.

    Hi Victor. I don’t know how you played Java in the past. Maybe it was via game pass.
    But if the game doesn’t appear purchased in your order history, it means that you don’t know it.

    About the Xbox edition, yes. It’s bedrock, but it’s the Bedrock for Xbox, not Windows

    The free Java edition was granted to the people who purchased Bedrock for windows.
    Any other platform is not eligible, only PC (and the opposite if you owned Java)

    I have this exact issue. I own the Minecraft Bedrock edition (for windows 10), and can install and play it through the minecraft launcher. I get the message in the launcher that I'm eligible for the Java edition, and click to try to redeem it, which takes me here: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraft-java-bedrock-edition-for-pc/9nxp44l49shj I sign in to my Microsoft account on the web, and it still says "Buy" rather than "Get" and there's no option to change things.

    I've tried uninstalling all minecraft stuff, resetting my windows store and xbox app accounts, and restarting the computer. I can reinstall minecraft just fine and still play the Bedrock Edition, but the Java edition remains unavailable.

    Heya! Not. If you have Minecraft Bedrock for one device (Switch in your case) You only have acess for "switch Bedrock" But, if you Buy Minecraft Windows 10 Edition (Now Minecraft Pc Bundle) You will gain acess for both versions in PC! The reason is: Ever Minecraft version is sold by a diferent store.

    no, it only applies to the pc versions, you would need to own java or windows 10 edition to get the other.
