    I have a startup error on my xbox and it tells me to factory reset the xbox but I don't want to lose progress on my games so if I factory reset it do I lose progress on my games.

    Hello there!

    If you always play online, then even if you reset you Xbox; your progress and your games all are saved to the cloud. Once you sign back into your account everything will go back to what it is.

    There two options to reset your console; "reset and keep games & apps" and "remove everything", try selecting to keep games and apps so you do not have to re-install your games again.
