    If I was to buy a monitor that has 144hz-160hz capability for my Xbox series s will I be maxed out at 120hz ? And do I need anything specific to play games at 120hz or higher?

    I agree! but 1ms response time monitors are better than 5ms response time monitors! and max 144hz monitor has 1ms response time, that's why i mentioned 144hz

    Many monitors use overclocking to achieve those numbers and are not compatible, please check that it's known to work with Xbox before purchasing.

    Xbox only supports up to 120hz, and only on games that support it, which is fewer on a series S than X

    Hi i bought an Xbox séries s recently and i have an 144hz monitor but when i go in my Xbox settings and i aply the 120 refrech rate i have an black screen for second and return to 60refrech rate please i ned help
    What specific model # of monitor do you have? Some monitors only do 144hz over display port for instance but possibly only 60hz over hdmi.
