If an app was approved by a family group that was age restricted and I leave the group will I still be able to play the game

    Hi Paige,

I’m Aileen, an Xbox Expert and fellow gamer. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to play the game you already downloaded, even after leaving the family group.

    Here’s what happens:

You keep the game you have now

Once you downloaded the 17+ app, its license is tied to your account. Leaving the family group won’t delete the game, and you can continue playing it as is.

Reinstalling or updating requires approval again

If you ever delete the game (or switch to a new console/PC) and try to re-download, Microsoft will check your age. Since you’re still under 18, you’ll need a parent or guardian in a family group to approve it again before you can install or update.

In short, you can play the game now without issues. Just know that if you ever remove it and try to add it back later, you’ll need new parental approval.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Looking forward to your response.

    age restriction on my account

Hi, Cheyenne!I understand that you're of the right age, but due to age restrictions, you're unable to play certain games or access specific content.

Can you please double-check if you can see other profiles at this link here:

    https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

If you are in a family group, you can leave the group.

    Thank you!

    Xbox permission

The system automatically assign the restrictions if you have a child account

You can try using an adult account and add your main account to this family group
You can do it from here:
    https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Child or age restrictions can't be bypassed if you don't receive an adult approval
