    Idea for appealing gift cards


    Today I bought my son an Xbox one gift card from our local GAME store to put into his Birthday card. However it doesn't come on a very appealing card, in fact it came on a paper receipt, i know this is still usable but it doesn't look like a gift as such.
    My idea for the gift cards would be to create an appealing looking card that can have either nice images on or even personalized images on that can be used over and over again, its just a simple top up card but it would look more like a gift than a piece of
    paper would. The card could even gather a points system that rewards customers. and daft as this may sound, you could even run a gift card lottery by issuing numbers on the cards and then every so often pick out a random number to win maybe a game ect. The
    potential these ideas have and all the branches of other ideas can keep flowing on this topic. People say think outside the box, i'm not quite out of it as others may do similar but its a start of thinking outside the box and doing something more. Thoughts?

    I like the gift card idea but I don't think they want to give these kids gift cards - they want them to be able to open something. Animal crossing sounds fun - we don't own that one. I think I've played Cooking Mama before and it was ok. Thanks everyone!

    Actual cards have been around for years. There are just some stores that use the receipt system instead of the cards.

    Yes, that's actually a brilliant idea. That should work. Just let him redeem the gift cards on the right account and he should be able to pre order that content using the gift cards.

    That would be a good idea, instead of gifting a digital game to someone you could just gift a digital gift card to them. That way if they change their mind about a game on their wishlist. Then they will just have the money and they could buy whatever
