    Dear quick-to-close-threads moderators, I want to clarify I am not looking to pursue any legal action. I want Microsoft to have some dignity and keep their promise from August 2013 and show that "commitment" they were talking about to PC gaming. Older games
    deserve the same treatment as modern games. I and everyone else want to regain access to the content we paid for. Is that really too much to ask for?!
    What does it take to receive an actual top-level official response from Microsoft Corporation about this issue?

    As a matter of fact, I do actually want you guys to
    offer this support you're talking about and communicate this issue to Microsoft just like you did in 2017. This problem can be fixed now just as easily as it was fixed in 2017 and before. Nothing's changed. Claiming otherwise is just a pretext to make
    up excuses and NOT help the customers you should be helping. Are you anti-consumer or what? Have you been specifically instructed to silence any complaints about the Games for Windows Marketplace? Really? I sure hope not.

    I can clearly see our purchase records are still kept on Microsoft's end if I check the in-game Marketplace in several GFWL games. The content data is still present of Microsoft's servers too. We just cannot download that content using the Marketplace client
    (nor from in-game as it still uses the client).

    I want to point out just a few examples of threads where the forums staff truly helped out with this problem in the past and allowed people to voice their complaints and I applaud them for doing the right thing:

    Why can't this happen again? Or is it just the old generation of forums staff that actually cared to keep in touch with people and help by forwarding issues to Microsoft? Why can't the new generation of forums staff provide the same level of assistance?

    I will certainly continue insisting on this subject, even if everyone else had enough and no longer bothers to do so. In a normal world there is no such thing as randomly and unannounced losing access to your
    paid digital content. Why does Microsoft think it's OK to just randomly close the back-end services for the Games for Windows Marketplace and devoid everyone of their purchases? Just because a lot of time has passed? How is that in any way a justifiable explanation?
    Some people sunk large amounts of money on that platform and for what? Just to lose everything they bought after a few years UNANNOUNCED?!

    I repeat. Microsoft announced they would close the Marketplace for new purchases. They NEVER announced people would
    lose their previous purchases at any point whatsoever. They decided seemingly randomly to pull the plug around 2015. Then a lot of people complained, obviously. And they fixed it some time in 2016. Then in 2017
    the problem kept coming back and they kept fixing it throughout the year. Until 2018 when they suddenly stopped caring that
    people cannot download the games they bought.

    Please help with this issue and forward this problem to the relevant departments at Microsoft, dear forums staff.

    I would suggest reaching out to Microsoft support directly, via there website.

    With digital content you purchase a license to use that item and it is not available to the end of time. Everything has an EOS and EOL date (end of support/ end of life) where it is no longer supported and no longer available.
