I went from MYVIP 5 star to 4?

Discus and support I went from MYVIP 5 star to 4? in XBoX Rewards & Social to solve the problem; hi as of the other day I looked at my rewards program I was 5 star and all of a sudden the next day I was 4 star?     hi as of the other day I looked at my rewards program I was 5 star and all of a sudden the next day I was 4 star? How is that possible and it says 12/31/16 MYVIP rank 5 deposit. But now I'm back to rank 4 which gave me lower rewards points back. I got 12,000
    when I was suppose to get 10% rebate back on games that I buy that were on the order list.. can someone's explain to me how I was down graded in my rank and for what's purpose was I?

    Hello Jeicam,

    We see that this gamertag still has a 5 star MyVIP star status, and recently received a deposit in April of the last payback event in March (which you received at a 5 star level). You can review your current MyVIP status on the MyRewards page.

    A reward team staff member will have to review your account. On January 1st, 2017 ranks were reset as part of the yearly progress rest, that is why your December 31st says rank 5. However, if after January 5th (when the program finished formatting for the
    new year) you still said 5 stars and it only very recently went down, then perhaps there is another issue with your account.

    The staff member will review your account and reply to you here. They work Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm PST and typically take 1-2 business days to reply.

    MyVIP has a recalibration every year. At the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December
    2016. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (Xbox Live Rewards). Since your purchases from the previous year
    (September 2015-December2016) was beneath the amount required for five stars, you were set to a four star level. From our FAQ:

    Will my Star Rank change from year to year?

    In September 2015, a year after we first launched MyVIP, we re-evaluated the program and made adjustments where necessary. In order to respond to our growing membership numbers and expanded regions, we adjusted the levels of MyVIP to better focus on offering
    additional monthly missions and other ways to earn for more members around the globe.

    Based on community feedback from our members, there was some confusion about when and how MyVIP would be recalibrated on a yearly basis. In order to simplify and streamline the process, and to let you know exactly how much time you have to build your rank,
    moving forward we will recalibrate your Star Rank progress based on the calendar year. That means you currently have until December 31, 2016 to boost your starting 2017 MyVIP Star Rank, which will be based on your overall spend between September 1, 2015 to
    December 31, 2016. You can see your current projected Star Rank for 2017 on MyRewards.

    It sounds like you were viewing your webpage in a different locale than your Rewards Account. Since you are an Australian Rewards member, this was not the eligible spending amount required for MyVIP star rank 5 for your region. You can find the MyVIP Star
    brackets from our FAQ at (https://rewards.xbox.com/faq/#vip). For Australia, MyVIP 4 is $2000.

    I'm having the same problem; all of a sudden my VIP rank went from 66% of the way to 5 stars as a 4-star, to 91% of the way to 4 stars as a 3-star.

    The 4% you are seeing is your current MyVIP star progress. Since you are going towards star 3, which requires $900 in spending, 44.98/900 = .04 or 4%. We can confirm that the MyVIP star offer does not appear to be properly updating your progress bar, and
    are having our platform team investigate the issue. Apologies for any confusion.

    As Smwutches says, pre-orders are not eligible for MyVIP, so your pre-order will not award progress for either MyVIP or the MyVIP star offer.
