    I was told to ask about this issue here by forza support- Everytime i open forza horizon 4...


    After 30 to 40 seconds after i open the game it crashes on the startup screen. It's been doing this for the last week or so since i had to reinstall windows 10 for a separate issue. I have been able to reproduce this issue every time I open the game.

    The user who replied to me on the forza support forums suggested that this might be a hardware issue related to my hdd/ ssd. He suggested that I try to reinstall the game on a different drive. I have done that over the course of the last week or so on the
    following devices: C: drive (Samsung 860 evo 1tb ssd) bought this a few months ago, I have also installed this on my E: drive (kingston ssdnow 240gb), and my F: drive (OCZ trion 480gb). Currently the game is on my c: drive and i have forza motorsport 7 on
    my E: drive able to run without issue.

    I was also told to do a defrag of the drives which i thought is bad for ssds. I have a 2tb hdd (seagate barracuda) which i can try but I want to know if that would be worth my time.

    Does anyone here know how to fix the issues I am having with the game and how i can get it to run?

    I already have the latest graphics drivers installed on my pc. I guess I can reinstall forza again (now reinstall #7). Should I try reinstalling the game to a different drive this time?

    by "repair/verify" game files do you mean hit reset in the settings app?

    You could try reinstalling the game but I would also make sure you have your graphic drivers updated too. When you reinstall Windows it may not have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed.

    Hello, one think I could suggest would be to try and repair the game files. Sometimes updating windows can corrupt game files or move them to different paths so I would try to repair/verify the game files. If that doesn't work, try opening the game from
    your desktop and running it as an administrator. I've had an issue with games before and running the game as an administrator has worked for me in the past. Let us know if either of these work for you or not.
