I want to rate a game that I played but it says “you must own this product before rating.”.

The store will say you don't own it because you didn't buy it digitally from the Xbox store.

but that doesn't explain why I can't rate my brand new game on its far cry 5 page you used to be able to rate new games that you got, its not allowing me to post it under Rating and Reviews section for this game or post of a review , since I do own the physical
version of this game that I just got from GameStop the other day.

it reads "You are unable to rate or review as you do not own this product." and also says Below product is installed. You can Play this game for now or buy it to own.

Again I do own it as the Physical Disc version of this game, I don't understand why I can't rate my Physical copy of this game, I don't have this problem with my other Physical Xbox games online, just this one copy of far cry 5 disc that I got this week from
my local GameStop's store is having this problem.

I bought Resident Evil Village and wanted to give my rating on the store but I get the message "You must own this product to rate and review". The thing is, I DO own it, just not digitally and this seems kind of unfair. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have had the same issue myself with another game and when I got a reply from support, it pretty much came down to that the store had not recognised I owned it. They did something in the back end to fix it and after they did I was able to do the rating.

You can rate games on the store. When you select a game the rating option is near the description.

It's a bad system though. People can rate games they don't own, and anyone can rate games at any time. So if you look at like, Halo 5, it's rating is sitting at four and half stars with just under 5000 ratings. Odd given the game ain't out yet.

Half the popular franchises get thousands of ratings before anyone has even touched them. lol Fallout 4 has 14000 ratings and is a five star game! It must be epic! Ha ha.

Your incorrect. You can rate any game in the xbox Microsoft store . There is a problem with the ratings when games are downloaded via gamepass because lately it says that I don't own them, I have rated many games this way (This is how I know your wrong
, sorry.) but suddenly it doesn't know I own the games and blocks me from leaving a rating.

I tried it on our end as well and I actually get the same message even when I sign in and have the app installed. It says You are unable to rate or review as you do not own this product. I also understand where the others are coming from since they mentioned
trying it on another device or website.

Just to clarify, it will allow you to rate the app in the app store on the phone but not our website? It may actually be a glitch with our site. We can always check that out for you. For now, just try to see if it is possible to rate the app using the Microsoft
Store itself on the PC (Not the website).
