    So recently I wanted to change my username (the username I still have is cringe: OmarThePro8018), right you get a freebie (ONCE ONLY) to change the gamertag? Right? Well I have to pay £8 for no reason!

    I'm afraid to say, but if the gamertag change system is asking you to pay for your change, this means the free change was already used.

    Not only that, but I would like to let you know that this payment requirement can't be bypassed, and Microsoft support is not capable of bypassing it for you.

    I know this is not the kind of answer you were expecting, but I hope it helps in some way.

    Since you have a custom gamertag

    The free change only applies to new accounts or ones with randomly generated names

    It's really easy to do. All you have to do is go to your profile click on "customize profile"click on your gamertag and change it to whatever you want. It'll cost you $9.99 if you have changed it before! Hope this helps!
