there are several cables that can be used to connect the console to a pc monitor, most used is probably the the vga cable. You can find it here :

I don't know the price and you might also need something else to connect audio, depending on the monitor (if it has speakers or not)

Well HDMI standard is supposed to be backwards friendly so if your display supports a newer version it shouldn't matter. I think it's any early version like HDMI 1.1-1.2 , but like I said if you're getting a new monitor with HDMI there shouldn't be any
issue.

I think going for a 2560x1440 PC gaming or professional monitor is going overkill for any console gaming even next gen. Unless you have a gaming or work PC would go with a couple of cheaper monitors. If you want it to so you can have a PC screen up while
you game on the other I would invest in a PC monitor and then go for a 30"+ 1080p TV. Then you can also use the TV as an second screen for the PC whenever you're not gaming plus support for older connections you might find you want at some point

For the Xbox One - 43" Samsung - it replaced the last Samsung I bought with my Xbox 360, so figured it was a decent investment.

For the PC - an Asus 23 inch monitor, and an LG monitor switched to vertical for a second screen.

And for retro gaming - a 38" Phillips currently connected to an Xbox 360 and a PS3, plus a small 15" or so portable TV for older consoles which haven't been converted to run through HDMI yet...

Desk with 2 monitors (One curved 27" monitor and the other is a 40" 4K tv), PC (connected to both the monitor and tv), Astro a50s (PC/XB1), elgato hd60s (for the random times I do try to stream), XB1X, Switch, and PS4 (all connected to the 4K tv).

The screen difference isn't that bad cause I'm usually playing on one and have a Twitch/Mixer stream or Netflix/Hulu/Crunchyroll up on the other.

As a side note my monitor is 1080p 144zh and my TV is 4K 60fps.

You can't. You can connect Xbox 360's to monitors that have HDMI inputs, but you can't connect them to the PC directly as PC HDMI connectors are outputs only. The same is true for Laptop HDMI inputs.

If you have a PC monitor you're in luck. Otherwise it's going to be TV only.

If your PC is one of those all-in-one PCs with the computer located inside of the monitor case then this won't be possible either.
