I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

A friendly reminder, when you complete the delete the previous email address of the account the entire email will be deleted.

Everything on the account such as the domain email will be permanently deleted.

When changing the alias of your account kindly make sure that the new email shouldn't be associated to another Microsoft account and most importantly not associated with a previously created account. When you pass this part, you will surely be able to set up a new email address to your account.

Sorry to hear about the frustration with changing email. You are able to change the email on the account, you can go to
Account page sign in then you will need to follow

how to change email address associated to Microsoft account. Please note this is important, If the primary email is any Microsoft domain such as live, hotmail, outlook you will lose the email once it is changed. meaning once you change if you used email
for work, personal or anything else, you wont be able to any longer.

Ok, you can still do that, just do not remove your mom´s email

Go to the Microsoft log in page

Go to Your Info>Edit Account Info>Add Email>Once added make that emai primary(there will be a button at its side)

Just keep in mind that when removing an email alias that’s connected to a Microsoft domain (such as @Outlook.com, @Live.com, or @Hotmail.com), that email is completely deleted from our systems and can’t be used to send or receive emails.
