Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help you resolve the issue:

1. Check if the keyboard is properly connected to your Xbox controller. If it’s not, try reconnecting it and see if it works.
   
2. Reset your Xbox controller by holding the Xbox button on the controller and selecting “Restart”. After restarting the controller, check if the Xbox properly detects the keyboard.
   
3. Uninstall and reinstall the Xbox Keyboard device in the Device Manager. To uninstall the Xbox Keyboard device, right-click on it in the Device Manager and select “Uninstall Device”. After uninstalling it, restart your Xbox and check if the keyboard works. If it doesn’t, reinstall the Xbox Keyboard device.

This might be game dependent.

I have a Xbox One controller connected to my PC, and I can seamlessly change from keyboard and mouse to controller and back in Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 for example.

When I wiggle the mouse in Sea of Thieves or Destiny 2, the game immediately switches the interaction prompts from controller buttons being displayed to actual keyboard keys, and if I move the controller, the game switches from "Press (keyboard key) F" to
"Press (Xbox Button X)" for example.

So it might be the game itself not allowing you to switch to mouse seamlessly. Are you able to go to the game settings and force the game to use your preferred input method?

i want to hook up my Xbox 360 to the same wireless keyboard i will be using on my multipurpose PC and i want to split the audio that i will be getting from PC and Xbox 360 but be able to hear both Xbox 360 and PC sound at same time just want to switch between
the keyboard without having to disconnect the USB receiver from the PC and Xbox 360 all the time as for video i just simply use two HDMI port on my TV i am using the turtle beach headset wired version which has a long enough cord for me but i don't want to
wake up one morning and be stuck in a tangled mess of wires so as for the keyboard i would like that to be wireless please reply with what i need to do this weather it be a KMV switch or a USB switch

Hello I am typing this here in the hopes you may be able to confront the problem with Microsoft.

I am having the same issue, where certain movements in the game will do things it should not when I use my controller. It will randomly switch weapons, the Y button on my controller will make my character jump and the sensitivity will go really fast as if i was using mouse and keyboard.

After quickly pressing escape to desktop one time, I saw what has been causing all of these problems that everyone here has been having.

For some reason the computer creates a digital keyboard behind the game when you use the controller.

Movements on the controller will move you along this digital keyboard (as well as control your character) and will cause you to press certain keys which will cause different things to happen-

(As if you were pressing keybinds on your real keyboard.)

Which explains why pressing “Y” on a the controller makes my character jump as well as doing the intended controls- as pressing “Y” on the controller is how you press space bar on this digital keyboard.

I am currently following the steps mentioned earlier to try and get rid of the keyboard but I just wanted to let it be known that this is the real issue.

Your game is receiving 2 different commands at the same time from 2 different controllers. Your digital keyboard AND your controller.
