    I want my gamertag back

    Hi,

    I don't have an Xbox anymore, so my windows live ID has expired from non-use.

    I want to reclaim my gamertag (dlorey), so I can use it on my PC, but I can't find any way to get this back??

    Creating a new WLID just creates a new gamertag, and I can't rename my current gamertag to match the old account, as it's still "in use".

    Ideas? (I'm in the UK).

    It is always best to start your own thread rather than tie onto another.

    You can post here
    forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx    . No superiors will contact you as Enforcement never reads this forum. If your Gamertag broke the COC then you are stuck with the new forced gamertag unless you pay the 9.99

    I can see how the original gamertag could be reported as inappropriate and breaking the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. And, according the terms and conditions of using Xbox Live, Microsoft reserves the right to change any gamertag that violates the CoC without
    compensation to the account.

    If you have not logged into any sites or used your profile on your Xbox for 6 months, it is possible that your account will become dormant. At that stage, it is not able to be recovered, unfortunately. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
