I want clarification as to what behavior constitutes a "suspendable" offence.

So I'm playing OW one day and we lose badly. I get a messages calling me a
[Mod Removed]repeatedly, here is a literal transcript of beginning to end, me being "M" and I guess for convenience's sake we use "A" as the other guy.

    [Mod Removed]

    [end of transcript]

Here is an excerpt from the message I received from my (denied) appeal:

For reference, this account was issued a temporary communications suspension for using offensive language as in calling others “[Mod
    Removed]
” as well as “[Mod Removed]” -- while
a certain amount of smack talk is allowed on the service, once it begins to upset, demean, or, even worse, hurt other members of the Xbox Live community, that’s when XBLPET must take action to discourage this type of conduct.

First of all, let's see how I didn't call him a "[Mod Removed]". Last time I did was April if my searching is correct, and I've already been disciplined for that (this is my second suspension).

Second of all, the context under which I'm calling him a "[Mod Removed]" is not a belligerent one. It's admonishment for lack of a better word. It paints a picture of their despicable attitude.

So what's the rationale behind upholding the suspension? Is the rule that there is an absolute list of "no-no words" that no matter the context you'll get a mark against your record?

    :)

    Is this a suspendable offence?

Yesterday I was playing a game and my squadmate (random person) team killed for no apparent reason. I was frustrated and sent him a message that said "are you retarded, we're in the same squad." To which he replied "you picked an item I wanted"

I can see why this message may be inappropriate however does it really constitute a communications ban?

I am unsure whether to file a review on this matter? What do you recommend?

    Thanks.

Multiplayer is broken... For returning/new players.

So you know ACrules7, bypassing the swear filter (however clever you choose to do it) is a suspendable offence, but you don't seem to care anyway, do you?...I want clarification as to what behavior constitutes a "suspendable" offence. :)

You can find information what is and what isn't allowed on Live here - Microsoft’s Code of Conduct Explained for Xbox Live Customers There's no specific list of words because it would just be too big. It doesn't matter how a situation starts. If you respond in a way
that violates the code of conduct, you can be punished. In situations like that, it's best to just report the other person and block communications with them.

Speaking of reporting and blocking, is the fact that I am now going to report literally everyone who looks at me negatively (because apparently enforcement is rather on top of things which is a pleasantly surprising change compared to other services) going
to decrease the "priority" of my reports? Or do I have like, three reports a month and anything over is "oh tyler's just being a sensitive **** now his reports go into the shredder".

Also you only tangentially answered my question. Yes I cussed him out, but contextually I arguably didn't. Not in the way that would normally be thought of as "cussing someone out". If I had said "miserable bastard" or "crotchity old coot" would I still
be in the same amount of trouble? I hardly think so, but contextually they are identical.

As long as the reports are valid, no. Otherwise, filing a lot of false complaints can result in a suspension.

The above is from an edit that you may have missed, do you think you can also answer this? What I'm trying to get at is what I can reasonably get away with and how they differ from what I can't, or if it's just a hard
    "shut up and report".

I want clarification as to what behavior constitutes a "suspendable" offence.

That's something that no one here can really answer 100%. It would ultimately be up to the enforcement team. Personally I would think yes on the 1st example mostly because of the 2nd word, but probably not on the 2nd.

As stated above, there is no list of words you should/shouldn't use on XBL. The XBL Policy Enforcement team reviews each report and responds as they see fit.
