i used a 15 dollar gift card because i wanted to change my gamertag but is says insufficiënt funds why

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you want to change your Gamertag.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Since the error message you are getting it regarding insufficient funds it has something to do with the total of funds you have added to your account.

To check on it, please go to https://account.microsoft.com>; Payment Options.

You should be able to see the total of gift card you have added to your account.

Kindly give an update, thank you.

    Gamertag change with account balance

Yes, exactly. Can I use the balance in my microsoft account to buy the change of the gamertag or do I have to use a debit or credit card? If the second option is the only one available, can I take the money out of the microsoft balance and back to a gift card? (because you can use a gift card as a payment method)
