I tried to make a gamer tag for a new Xbox account of mine error 400 keeps on coming up...

Hello. Ok. I keep trying to change it. The money thing doesn't come up anymore. The gamertag I have chosen is available and I click Yes, I want this gamer tag. Then the page freezes and I try to click refresh and its frozen then it comes up with this error
message:

HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.

And even when I clicked your link above it says Bad REquest and same error message.

I'm trying to do this on my Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 (online) vs on the xbox. On the xbox Console I've got to the point where I can change my gamer tag but I can't figure out how to back out my current gamer tag and start "typing" in what I want
for my new gamer tag and I'm afraid it will just select something new for me and then, that's it, I've used my one time free gamertag change.

I can't even sign in on xbox live. The link isn't clickable. Xbox is hard.

So yesterday I tried to make a new gamer tag and it showed that there were no hashtags and when I purchased it it only changed my game gamer tag not the main one. I’m frustrated because I thought that it would change the main gamer tag that everyone else sees but it didn’t. I’ve checked and no one else has the gamer tag that I’m trying to create, and whenever I try to do it, it always add a hashtag after, is there anything I can do to remove the hashtag?

If it has a hashtag then its definitely taken.

Keep in mine the system doesnt recognize spaces as making a gamertag unique so gamertag and gamer tag for example would both be considered the same gamertag.

If you search up the gamertag you want it won't show up in the results unless you type it in exactly as the person has it.

It is not the first time the gamer tag was changed. It was my account tried to change it to my sons with his gamer tag not mine.

Already have tried that, but here's the funny part. It will load on my other gamer tag first, then when i come back to mine it finally reads it. The trick is flip flopping through gamer-tags and I'm sick of it cause its all saved up in the hard drive
