I think this Game is no good

Even though I play this game I think companies like R* should be more careful about game contents. Media is just like a knife, they should use it in the right way...

 

People do not feel the way that you do OP. GTA5: one of the highest grossing games of all time.

 

The examples of the game you gave are exactly the reason why there's ESRB ratings.

 

More or less this game lets you be a gangster, criminal, murderer, and more, without you having to do them in real life. Do you think people join the military because they think it will be like Call of Duty or Battlefield? Some might. Like maybe .001% of
people that join lol. But most don't.

Same applies to GTA. I have played most of the GTA's and am in now way inspired to be a criminal. Honestly the game scares me away from that if anything. But that is just me lol

 

Well for starters its got that trivial preestablished rating for good reason. No I would not buy any M rated game for my children no matter how much they whined and begged, and any parent who already has, namely with any GTA title, has no business being
a parent. Secondly if you feel the need to ask such a question or even question yourself as to whether or not it affects any of your daily grinds on a morality compass, then maybe you shouldnt be playing said games to begin with. There are other more proactive
and or constructive things you can do with your time. I personally can run an entire 3 day marathon on GTAV, while just as easily put the controller down and spend time with my family just fine without feeling compelled to murder anyone for that matter. Its
just a game. meant to be played by mature gamers. nothing more. hense the M rating.

I gave my GTAIV disc to a 9yr old girl, who doesn't do MP, and turns the sound off, but loves to just drive around.

 

I've been playing videogames for 30 years (Even owned and operated my own game store for 10 of them) and the escapism they offer is something which a lot of people like about them.

Violence in videogames hasn't affected myself, as I don't let them rule my life like some do. I admit, that some people don't have any right playing games, those who can't tell the difference between reality and a game. The ESRB ratings exist for a reason
and if a parent buys a M, MA15+ or R18+ game for little Timmy who's 9... and then get mad because of the content in said game, then the parent only has themselves to blame for not taking note of the rating or at least being smart and asking the clerk at the
store what's the game like BEFORE buying.

People like Jack Thompson and other 'crusaders against Videogames' have no damn clue to the crap they preach. They focus on one negative and pounce, regardless of if the violent act was in the game or not. It's 'obvious' to them, that videogames are responsible
for everything going wrong... that CoD MW3 was responsible for a 12 year old attempting to *** and then killed his mother... ignoring the fact that his father had taken him hunting and taught him how to use a gun when he was 6. Yup, ignore the background history
and focus on videogames... they're the root of all evil... feckin idiot.

 

This game is slowly (and I mean that very loosely and with extreme sarcasm) turning itself around but it still isn't there yet IMO.

 

Just lucky that its not a COD game where there is a new game coming out every NOV, so you only get a good 6 months of support where they work on fixing things, then pretty much ignore ya after that as they are focused on the new one coming out.

COD Ghost is still in need of help but they are more focused on COD Advanced Warfare coming in Nov already.

Im pretty much done with that game model. Like Iphones, not gonna spend $600 every year for a new phone, ain't buying a new COD every year for $60 when I have barley had time to play the last one.

 

^GTA: V and Online left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I think I'll just wait for the PC versions from now on.
