I think Quick Resume might cause issues with moving games to/from storage.

I have experienced a few issues with storage, but I think I see a particular pattern.

My theory is that, if I have a game that is in "quick resume" state, and I try to move the game, the original copy of the game is not erased. I don't know exactly how the quick resume technology works, but it seems to me that however capability is implemented, there is a good chance that it wouldn't play nice with the original data files being moved.

However, given the ephemeral way quick resume is implemented (IMO), I would expect Quick Resume to be cancelled rather than the move command to fail.

I'm still trying to research this through experimentation which is why I'm bringing it here for input instead of just filing a bug I'm not sure about.

    Sound not working

    Latest update is installed.

The quick resume menu seems to have disappeared so I don't think I can remove them from quick resume.

I went out for an hour earlier. Turned the console back on and sound was fine, but as soon as I moved from one game to another it stopped the sound again.

This is seriously annoying and almost makes the console unusable. If I plug headphones into my controller I can hear the sound but there's nothing coming from the television. This bug needs to be sorted

Newer games require faster storage bug. Will not let me -download- to external harddisk/ssd

    I don't think that's a bug

One of the features of the series console is quick resume and preloading games as you download as soon as you reach 25% which requires the internal or storage cards

And downloading to external would slow down the download

You can download direct onto internal then move it externally keep in mind it's painfully slow without the compression processor at 500mbps

Error Code while playing AC Valhalla & trying to connect to Animus Store and purchase/redeem/use “Helix” credits and my console/network is “experiencing issues with Xbox Live Core Services”

🚨 SOLVED 🚨 I think I just solved this myself. After doing a full console shut down and restart, I opened the game and DID NOT do Quick Resume, as this seems to always cause an error with the Animus Store. It also solved the problem of missing Opals from your Inventory Bag, as mine is now showing the correct 443 rather than the 0 it has been doing off and on, and I’m relieved to have figured it out. If anyone else has this issue, try doing the same with a full console shutdown/restart then allow the game to fully load without doing Quick Resume. Hope this helps others.

a glitch that I have in the hunter call of the wild when entering a map

Hi, when you open the game in your Series X. The game starts from the quick resume / the quick resume feature is used?
Or did you open the game from the start?

Quick Resume broken by latest Xbox update

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with quick resume.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

To set your expectation properly, other gamers have noticed that after the April 30, 2026 update, Quick Resume especially for games like Red Dead Redemption 2 has become far less reliable it is because quick Resume relies on your console staying in a sort of “semi-active” memory state, and changes in the update have affected how the hardware handles power modes.

Switching the power mode from the default “low power” setting to “standby” is the best workaround because the standby mode helps keep more of the console’s state active, which could be why Quick Resume starts working again for you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
