I think my Xbox console used by someone else before me

Although we can not check for previous purchases on a console you should still be able to see the devices warranty to make sure that it is still valid.

As for the console itself, if it was sold to you used you should speak with the store that sold it to you as all consoles are shipped to retailers as new products.

But my original question was if I could change it back to what it was before. I could be wrong, but I think the reason Microsoft believed someone else was accessing my account was because I was logged in on my Xbox and computer at the same time. Also, I
think I fixed it by changing it using the Xbox anyway.

It definitely sounds as if the console was not exactly brand new. If someone else had used your console and has it set up as their Home console, you will automatically download everything they purchase. So it sounds like someone else had used the console
before and returned it, or Gamestop had used it somehow.
