I think my account was hacked and how do I get it back?

Hello everyone I was just asking for help because I think my account was hacked. So basically I had an account and I stopped playing for awhile like 2-3 months and then when I tried to play again I tried to sign in and it wouldn’t work so then I clicked forgot password and then it gave me the option to send an email to some random email that I have never heard of. So I’m not too sure how I can prove that the account is in fact mine and get my account back so if anyone would be willing to respond and help that would be greatly appreciated.

This article discusses how to recover a hacked account including extensive detail on changing your password, checking sign in activity, reviewing account settings, and protecting your account. If you can't reset your password this article mentions places you should check for saved password history. At the bottom of the page select, "Fill out the Microsoft account recovery form." This is the only way to get an account back if a password cannot be remembered.

Hey so I’ve been trying that and it still hasn’t been working even with all of the passwords that I used to have so I’m guessing he changed all the information on it or something like that. So basically that website hasn’t worked for me

There's a link on this page that says, "Contact a Microsoft Support Agent" and you can speak to a support agent about your account, they may be able to help. Unfortunately, we're unable to do more to support account issues on the public forums.

You can also go to this the Xbox Contact page and choose Account & Profile and I forgot my username or password. Make sure you are as detailed as possible when letting them know your situation.

If your account was under the gmail domain then you need to contact Google

Microsoft can not do anything if it was not a "Microsoft" account
