    I started testing my backlog collection for fun, but since I found some inconsistency I'm sharing my findings from the first 200 games tested

    • 96 Games have Quick Resume.
    • 96 Games do not have Quick Resume.
    • 8 Games might have, but there's an issue.

    I'm using an Xbox Series X and all the games listed here are running from an external HDD 16 TB drive (except AC: Valhalla cause XSX Optimized). Also, I'm using the latest Alpha Skip Ahead build available.



    There were 8 games that do not have the Quick Resume pop-up at launch, but they appear in the Quick Resume group anyway, but as soon you open another game they are wiped out from existence.

    Games with issue

    Agents of Mayhem, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, Assassin's Creed III Remastered & Black Desert the first time I launched them they had the same issue, but a few attempts later they went OK, so I don't know.

    Quick Resume broken by latest Xbox update

    I understand that you are experiencing issues with quick resume.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    To set your expectation properly, other gamers have noticed that after the April 30, 2026 update, Quick Resume especially for games like Red Dead Redemption 2 has become far less reliable it is because quick Resume relies on your console staying in a sort of “semi-active” memory state, and changes in the update have affected how the hardware handles power modes.

    Switching the power mode from the default “low power” setting to “standby” is the best workaround because the standby mode helps keep more of the console’s state active, which could be why Quick Resume starts working again for you.

    Instant on, game resume

    I'm having the same problem and it's really starting to frustrate me! I have tried it with dead rising 3 and rayman, both on disc and the games won't resume quickly after powering off but when I tried it with Forza which I have digitally, that quickly resumed
    after powering off, I'm not sure if it just disc based games that are having the issues with quick resume. Also everything worked fine before the update!

    5 days later still have only gotten into 5 games..... WTF

    I unlocked the Battle Rifle Name Plate. which is play 200 online matches or campaign(which I haven't played yet.) So I rarely not find a game. I find one under 2 minutes. 50 down / 10 up.

    Hello Jamescoppola1, which console would you be playing on, normal Xbox One or Series S/X?

    Have you tried some procedure in the console like clearing the cache or resetting the console while keeping games and App, one thing that can hinder the loading of the console is to have games in quick resume, if you have any remove them from the quik resumes.

    No settings need changed on your end. Since Series launch MS has been tracking issues with Quick Resume. Some titles have had quick resume deactivated while they investigate.
