The only thing I could think of is that something went wrong with your external hard drive.

So I used the same console and same disc with somebody elses hardrive, recovered my account and it works fine. I'm guessing something wrong with the hard drive and not the disc or console???

Gonna try insatlling it shortly.

if you took some1 elses xbox to your house where your xbox was and switched only your hard drive and it worked then there is something else wrong with your xbox. if you just went with your hard drive to some1 elses house then its probably just cause you
have network issues. of course if thats the case you coulda just brought your xbox
