I spent £21.99 on an adapter for my Xbox One controller and it doesn't work

That adapter will WORK with the Elite controller.

When I got my Oculus Rift, the set included the older model of the Xbox Wireless USB Adapter with a Xbox controller, and my Elite Controller works on my Windows 10 PC with that adapter.

The newer version is simply a bit smaller.

So you do NOT need a special "Elite" wireless adapter (which doesn't exist).

If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.

Microsoft was fairly explicit that existing 360 peripherals would not work with Xbox One. At this time, the only thing mentioned so far is that a physical adapter is in the works to convert the new output port on the new controller to work with existing
wired mic devices.



Wireless mics won't work as the wireless protocols are different. The Tritton Warhead is wireless. It won't work with the Xbox One. It doesn't matter how much you spent.

My X1 headset adapter stopped working on 10/27. No mute light and no mic getting to Xbox. The mic works, I can hear it in the headphones, but it's not getting through adapter. I tried updating controllers, but they didn't update.

I went out and bought another X1 headset adapter, controller auto updated, new adapter works fine, old one still doesn't. Too soon for this stuff to brake down. I want warranty or reimbursement to kick in here. Help!
