    I set my child's xBox up on my email - what are my options


    Ok, so I have read various posts about this, but feel my scenario is a little different.

    I have two outlook email addresses - one is not a serious email address - it is used to avoid tons of nonsense when signing up for things.

    Two years ago I set my son up on an xBox using this email address - so he has an adult account in a sense.

    I would like to set him up with his own email address - without losing his gamer tag and all of his gamer history.

    As a note - I don't mind that his current account is an adult account - as I control the password and have two-step verification, which means the account is locked down, he cannot change settings or make purchases without the password and verifications codes
    (neither of which he has access to).

    If it means losing the current email address - I might be able to live with that.

    Has anyone had any experience of this?

    Are you using a new email or the same email as the old account?

    I do not understand what an unlocked Xbox is, I've never set one up before because my dad set my old one up as a child.

    I am using a new email than my old account because my old account was my dads email.

    I have entered my child's profile, but I can't find the option to change privacy settings anywhere. I had a look over at the website you linked, but it seems like it isn't up to date, even though it was updated May 23rd. I logged onto my Xbox-account,
    but couldn't find my child's gamertag anywhere. I entered my profile, but my child wasn't anywhere to be seen.

    I'm fairly sure it is set to adult.

    Although I cannot find anywhere either on my Xbox dashboard (Setting option, parental lock option, etc.) or my online account settings, options etc. that states that it is a child or adult account.

    I found in the help section, steps on how to promote an account from child to adult but followed the steps and didn't see the promote option.

    2 different email addresses, one of which was set up as a child account that I've managed to set up as an alias on my Microsoft account The problem with that is he uses a different Xbox at his mum's account, so i can't make them both my home one.
