    Hi,

    Not all Xbox 360 console have 4GB of internal storage. These 'Core consoles' where a specific SKU of the Xbox 360 console sold without a hard drive. They still had the port where an official hard drive could be installed. You've probably got a standard 360 S without a hard drive installed.

    Just to update anyone else with this issue or who just wants to know in general. I have purchased a used official 250GB Xbox 360 HDD for my Xbox 360 Slim on Ebay for $25. I still have the 4GB memory removed from my Xbox that was causing issues before due to corruption, and installing the HDD allows for me to install all updates! So if anyone's 4GB Xbox 360 S has a removable memory chip like mine, and also has an official Xbox HDD, I would suggest removing the built in 4GB memory and try to install any system updates to your HDD instead.

    To be fair the Xbox 360 S would have looked rather retarded with an old 360 hard drive slapped on top.

    You could always buy a cheap 16GB USB stick instead, use that for storage and buy a HDD later.

    The cheapo Xbox 360 S also has 4GB of built in flash memory too.
