I recently bought Minecraft but the Java version only works on Windows 7/8.

I have downloaded both minecraft launchers, but each launcher seems to be with a different account. Both accounts link back to the same Microsoft account. I was wondering if there is a way to link accounts, or just fix the Windows 10/11 so it doesn't say Play Demo for the Java Version.

One of the family group members bought the Java version of Minecraft recently, there are no other Windows version purchases.

If you received the confirmation email about the migration, it migrated properly for sure. Please make sure you download the right version of Minecraft (Java or Minecraft for Windows) and use this Windows 7/8 launcher for now.

I uninstalled minecraft launcher.

As you suggested I downloaded "minecraft launcher for Win 7/8".

At present I still can't play "minecraft java demo version". I can't launch "minecraft bedroch version". There appears notification that bedrock version is incompatible with launcher

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?
