I receive an error when attempting to recover my password

I forgot my password. When I click the forgot password link, it asks for the last four digits of my phone number to which I enter. I have received the same error code each time since yesterday evening. The error states:

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

I cannot find a live support number, or a chat bot option. Someone please help!!

Hello Carrie, sorry to hear you're having trouble logging in to your account.

Although they won't be able to help with recovering or replacing the password you can contact support via https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and start a chat. When you get to a fellow Xbox gamer ask to be escalated to a Microsoft Advocate for more help.

or 'Use a Passkey'.

What is the process to recover my account to the console?

Oh sorry, we did all those procedures yesterday. Gave us the same error.

Is the "Profile Protection" solution worth trying?

Hey there, I replied to your other thread as I saw that one first. Just as an FYI, the official agents check all new threads every day- starting with the oldest first. So if you create/bump threads frequently sometimes we can miss them. We an just hang
out in that other one for now.
