I purchased a copy of Minecraft of my Xbox, and can't access it on my PC.

In 2020, I bought Minecraft on my Xbox, and have been playing it there for a while. Recently, I bought a Windows 10 laptop, and went to play on it. When I opened the Minecraft launcher, the only version available to me was the Demo/Trial. When I went to the Minecraft website, there was no record of me owning a copy of the game. I can still access it just fine on my Xbox.

I only have 1 Microsoft account, so there's no chance that I was just signed into the wrong place. I've tried logging out and back into my account on every platform I could (Minecraft launcher, Minecraft website, Microsoft website, and Xbox app on the PC) with no results. How can I access my game without giving up and buying a new copy?

Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title so you would have to purchase it for the PC if you want to play it on the PC.

You do not get a free copy of the game for Windows, if you purchased on Xbox. You have to purchase Minecraft again on PC if you want to play the game on that platform. It's also the same for any other platform the game is available on.

I have minecraft purchased from mojang page for a long time now. In december 2021 I purchased xbox game pass for PC. I had to reinstall my windows and my game pass expired and im not planning in purchasing it again. But i have come to realize that I can't install minecraft original launcher from the minecraft page, not game pass. It says that there is an error "minecraft error microsoft.4297127D64EC6_1.0.113.0_x64_8wekyb3d8nnwe - File system error (-2143322101) " and it has to do with xbox game pass. I need a solution, how is it possible that I can't play a game that i own since like +6 years easily?! I can't afford to buy a new copy of minecraft java because of my country and the rise of the price. My partner has the same problem.

- As I stated in the original post, I purchased the Xbox One S 'Minecraft Edition.' I own the game through a digital code.

- "The PC version was provided as a code I believe so you can redeem that to any account."
- The code in my purchase history simply says "Minecraft for Windows." If it was a PC-only code, then why was I able to still access Minecraft Windows edition on my Xbox previously, but cannot do so now? The way I see it: I got a game with my Xbox to play on my Xbox, Microsoft buys up Mojang, gives me a code to play Minecraft on my PC, then takes away all forms of me playing Minecraft on my Xbox. Does this make sense?

If I read your question correctly, you purchased Minecraft 360 Edition and would like to use your Xbox purchase to access the PC version of the game. Unfortunately, that cannot be done. PC and console versions of games are separate. This is just like having
to purchase a separate version of a game if you wanted to play it on a different console. This is because the hardware and software are different between devices. Sorry, but you'll need to get a separate copy of the PC version of Minecraft if you wish to play
it on your PC.
