    surely I couldn't get 2 faulty headsets in a row so I am starting to think that the controller is the problem. It's been recently updated but the headset still doesn't work. I can hear the game sound through my tv instead of headset, and it says everything
    is connected (it doesn't give the 'no mic' warning) but the mic still doesn't work in party's or trying to livestream. Also I have to press the volume up button quite hard for it to beep in my headset and the volume down doesn't beep at all

    Turtle Beach

    Hi all. Just purchased the Turtle Beach 30x cheap Headset for my Xbox one not realising that it needs a new Xbox controller (didn't realise there was a new controller) to plug directly into.

    In the Turtle Beach instructions it says to purchase the Ear Force Headset Audio Controller so I can plug the head set into that then that into the controller.

    My question at last is, will the official headset adapter for Xbox work with the Turtle Beach instead of their Audio Controller.

    Xbox one Headset Mic not working

    About a month ago I purchased the xbox one and my headset was working fine, until 2 weeks ago when my microphone wouldn't pick up any sound. I thought it could be the headset that was the problem so I purchased a new headset, it arrived a week later and the microphone still couldn't pick up sound. I then thought that it was the controller, so I ordered one. It arrived yesterday, I plugged it in, it worked for 10 minutes and then it cut out and hasn't worked since. Does anyone know what the problem could be or have any advice for what to do. Thanks

    Headset connection problems

    If neither headset worked it could likely be a controller problem.

    Do you have any other controllers you could use to test the headsets on?

    Game chat freezes game and kicks me

    Thanks for the continued efforts!

    To clarify - it is only (so far) when activating Sea of Thieves' game chat that the layer removal effect happens; while chat in Red Dead 2 Online also doesn't work, it doesn't kick me or create the same effect.

    Both games run smoothly otherwise - and party chat does (mostly) work in Sea of Thieves.

    To your suggestions:

    - I have the official Xbox chat headset (I have also tried with generic headsets with same result).

    I have the official Xbox controllers (one that came with my xbox and an additional official xbox controller bought separately).

    - I have just tried with another account - same result, unfortunately.

    The chat function on my Xbox One seems pretty dodgy too. I have 2 official controllers and for some reason the official headset wont work with one of them.

    It could be a controller issue, The headset may need an update too directly from the manufacturers site. What type of headset is it ? How old is it ?
    It's an official Xbox One controller and was bought about 6 weeks ago.

    I have tested my controller on another Xbox and it worked (with headset) just fine.

    I have also tried it with two other controllers (with and without the stereo adapter) and still not working.

    I have also tried all three controllers and another headset on another profile and still not working.

    Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

    Update: A new headset I had ordered last week arrived, same issue, though it has separate mic/audio cables I have yet to get an adapter for, Audio cable worked, mic cable just made static while being plugged in/unplugged/twisted. Works flawlessly on my computer,
    audio works on xbox, but mic won't work. I do not have access to a newer controller, and neither of my headsets are official Xbox One stereo headsets.
