I preordered MW3 and it posted on my bank account today but on my Microsoft order history...

It is a pleasure to write to you today and try to help you in whatever way is necessary, for my part I will do everything possible to resolve any questions/problems you are presenting.

According to an internet search, I found an article by Xbox that mentions that when a reservation payment is unsuccessful, the money is not debited from the bank. Now why this happens, is because some games on the Xbox store will still apply a tax on top of the original price, so it's best to have enough quantity to cover the tax as well. And since you do not have enough money in the Card/Bank, the payment will appear failed.

After a charge to your account has failed for a pre-order, there will be another charge attempt a few days later. If that second attempt fails to load correctly, your pre-order will be canceled, and you will have to purchase the desired game again after adding a valid payment option to your account.

As long as it does not show Canceled, you should be good. Also, you can check your bank to see if there has been an authorization or charge posted for the order. I just received an email from my bank today saying Microsoft Store charged my card on file for
the preorder. You could also contact Microsoft Support to verify your order status

Thanks. So if there's nothing reflected on my purchase order history, but I have bank account transactions for Microsoft Xbox, that can only mean the purchases are against another Microsoft account. Is there a way of tracing purchases back from the bank
to Microsoft to identify the account / individual?

some banks take the charge and puts a hold on your account till the day it ships I preordered the ps4 from amazon nothing down like amazon policies says and nothing on my bank account statement canceled the preodered went to pre order the xbox one and amazon
did not have the xbox one day one system so I went and preordered from Microsoft store. still no charge on my account.

The order is not in my history but the 30 euro went from my bank account
