    It can take up to a week for changes your avatar or your gamer tag to propagate across everything

    It can take up to 48 hours for a gamertag to change. Be patient, and if it still hasn't changed after the 48 hours, then contact Xbox support

    when i changed one of my gamertags it took nearly 48 hours to propgate around all the services, it does warn i think that some services maybe affected while change happens.

    I believe your gamertag has changed OP, I remember it being a longer gamertag the first time I read this a few hours ago.

    If it hasn't, just be patient, it'll have to change soon. It won't take 5 minutes to change the gamertag, it may take a few hours.

    First make sure that the Gamertag change fee is showing up on your end and is stated as “completed”. To do so please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.

    Once confirmed I would highly recommend changing again because it will not charge you again.
