I own Game Pass and it will not launch Halo 5

SOLUTION

This happened to me when I tried to launch a Game Pass game (Wolfenstein: The New Order) after my subscription had expired. I renewed my sub, but the Windows Store kept launching.

I fixed it by launching a game I didn't need a subscription for. Try a free game like Halo: Infinite, or a game you own. After I did that, Wolfenstein launched without a problem.

i own gears 4, and most of the games i have tried to launch, i can play gta v which was gifted to me, but alot of the games i own or downloaded that were games with gold, wont launch, i did try that offline option with no success, i downloaded gears 5 when it was free last month but i didn't know game pass over rights licences D:

i can't not own a console if i know it'll have games i want to play, so obviously i'm gonna buy a xbone...probably not at launch, but eventually. maybe if they do special edition systems packaged with halo 5 or something...well, probably not halo 5 cause
i'll be getting the legendary edition of that, but whatever the first bundle they do i'll probably get.

so are all the microsoft games like forza and halo included?

Forza Horizon 4 is a Play Anywhere title (not sure about Motorsport)...would make sense for Horizon 5 to also be when it releases.

Halo:MCC is not a Play Anywhere title and requires buying separately for console and PC (I own the console version and would have to pay to play the PC version if I wanted to own it)...however, it is on Game Pass for PC and console so if you own the UGP you can play it on either

I think Halo: Infinite will be Day 1 on Game Pass (not 100% sure though) so you can play it on console or PC if you have GP without purchasing. Halo 5: Guardians can't be played on PC/laptop as it wasn't made available on that platform (for some unknown bizarre and completely illogical reason)
