I never received reward points for my preorder

Long story short, I pre-ordered Destiny 2 Digital Deluxe on May 18th of this year. I haven't received any points (pending or given) for that specific purchase. I noticed this when I looked at the mission for pre ordering and noticed no progress and started
looking through past statements. There was a deposit of points a few days after that purchase entitled "MyVIP Star Rank 2 (Gold)" but it only equated to 2,000 points. After doing the percentage back math that's severely under what I should have gotten, and
thinking back I believe that would be for another purchase I made around that same time. Looking through this, I'm also starting to wonder if this has happened with other pre-orders and the like, some of these numbers are not quite adding up.

Preorder punchcard

I never received my rewards for the preorder punchcard. The 3 games showed up as preordered on the punchcard but no points.

 

Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition Rewards not received

Hi,

I purchased Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition last month (preorder). There is a promotion for 15K rewards points if preordered. I never received these points in my account.

 

There were no offers to receive credits for preording Destiny in May. Preorders do not count towards VIP.

 

I thought you were supposed to get a percentage back with any purchase?

 

Not totally. Subscriptions, in-game consumables, and preorders do not counts towards VIP at all. Any purchases you make that count towards another offer on the site will count towards your progress, but not your rebate.

 

If Pre-orders are excluded, then at what point do those purchases count? If they don't then that would mean that it's actually detrimental to pre-order any game period as far as Xbox rewards is concerned (aside from the slight VIP rank boost).

 

So it's better to just buy the game after launch then? Or does it have to be specific games depending on currently running missions?

 

If there is an offer to receive credits for preordering the game then you could still do so and earn credits. Otherwise you would have to purchase it after launch in order to get rebate credits for it.

From the FAQ for the Games on Demand offer:

—How do I earn Rewards with the Games on Demand Pre-Order Punchcard?

Earn 15,000 Rewards Credits when you pre-order three eligible (see descriptor in next question) Games on Demand titles in the Xbox Store between July 1, 2017 00:00 UTC and September 30, 2017 23:59 UTC.
You must pre-order each game before its shown release date to qualify. Please visit http://www.worldtimeserver.com or another world time database to determine local time.

Since you did not make your pre-order in the offer period, it was not eligible for the offer. Furthermore, since you did not make three eligible purchases, you did not complete the offer. Additionally, as stated in the FAQ, pre-orders are not eligible for
MyVIP:

What content on the Xbox Store is eligible for MyVIP?

Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles (excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes, movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar
items. In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.
