About the Microsoft family, it is actually impossible for you to get added on a family group without you accepting it yourself from your email invitation. Possible that this was setup long ago and restrictions are taking place just now.

No worries! Let me try to help. Can you try if you can access the email address that is showing as organizer on your family group? If you know the email address, try resetting the password via https://account.live.com/pw it will send a code to the phone or email associated to it.

If the recovery information is also not familiar to you, try to leave the family group next.

To do this, sign in your account at https://account.microsoft.com/family page under your account, click the 3 dots or elipsis button > Go to overview > Scroll down to the bottom part of the page > See if you have option "Leave group"

On my end, I can see option to leave family group but this might depend on how your account was setup for example if the age it was setup before is a minor.

Sorry to hear about that! If you are on hold or waiting in contact for a Microsoft representative already, they might be able to help remove it.

As far as I know, only the organizer can remove you from the group reason why I suggested if you can try to recover it. The option to leave the family group might only appear if the date of birth of your account is correct and not setup as a minor. It should show on the bottom part of the family page.

I live alone and have no direct family members. I purchased my operating system on my account and have a record of the purchase attached to the account. The receipt is in the email that I use to log into my Microsoft account. I cannot remove the "family organizer" with the false account. Only the family organizer can remove themselves or others. At the time of this response I have been on hold with Microsoft support for 1:33:04 with no response besides the initial filter person who said that they were connecting me with support on a other line.

I'm not sure what else to do besides staying on hold.

Got an update, By making emails and messing around with the microsoft families stuff, This account is now the 'Child' In a family to a new profile. I can't however get this profile to be listed as a child on the console family.

Here are the steps to take to be able to remove the unknown member:

1. Sign in with the appropriate account on the console.
   
2. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
   
3. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account.
   
4. Select Family settings > Manage family members.
   
5. If prompted, validate that you have the authority to make this change by entering your password or passkey
   
6. Select the account you want to remove from the family.
   
7. Select Remove <Name> from family, where <Name> is the person’s name that you want to remove.
   
8. Select Remove from family to confirm that you want to remove the family member.
