I need to know Microsoft policy

Basically, account got hacked, hacker used account to breach TOS. Got account back through support and then locked hacker out and changed security details. Then get email from support, locking the account. After so much back and forth for basically a year, I get the reason why my requests fail, saying policy says he can’t I suspend because security info was changed. This policy seems really stupid and circular, down right illegal. If you can prove u own account, have secured it, then why is it policy not to unlock. I’m in Aus and this does seeem to be reportable to the ACCC for improper support with a service because I it lack to a standard. Side note, the literal only thing of value in the account is my 5 year minecraft world that I really want back.

When you say the gamertag shows as available on all websites, what sites are you talking about? Only Microsoft sites are official, and when you search for a name and it can't be found it doesn't say available, it tells you it can't find it. There is a difference,
which might not be clear enough, however at the point of changing you get informed.

I believe Sony will also have similar rules, if the name you want can't be had then you won't be able to get it there either.

Switching platforms over not being able to get the name you want is a little extreme, in my opinion, as you won't get back the money you have invested in the current system. Have both

My guess is you could've experienced something like I have where if you've used up a certain amount of refunds within a time (They don't specify the exact amount), they'll deny you a refund. They've done this twice to me already even on games I've only
put a max an hour in.

If you used a site like checkgamertag, the search returns false. I just tried and apparently my gamertag is available as is another that I know is in use.

Do not trust information from 3rd party sites, claiming they can tell availability.

When the mass gamertag release was done none of those gamertags were from accounts that had permanent bans on them.

Their will most likely not be another Mass gamertag release done the new policy with MS is the account must not be signed in on anything to do with MS for 5 years starting in 2016. So in 2021 any account that had not been signed in for the last 5 years on
anything to do with MS not just Xbox that accounts gamertag will then be released

Article helps clarify some of XBone's policies. Personally I agree disc-based shouldn't need authentication, however I am excited about 10 "xbox family" members that can share game libraries. Obviously still need more information about that feature. As it
is time will tell, and hopefully Microsoft will too.
