Ive found a way around the problem, If i put my iPod earphones under my turtle beach headphones, it works

Its Just ordinary apple earphones that have a mic

I tried it with my bros controller it still didn't work

the earphones work with all of my other devices

it never worked

I went in settings and turned my mic on still didn't work

Im in Canada there is no gamestop

I tried 2 earphones with mics and 1 Bose headphones still didn't work

Ive tried restarting my xbox, restarting my controller, cleaning my headphone jack and cleaning my headphone connector. Im not sure what else to do. I haven’t been able to test out any other headsets but I’ll try earphones

OP - Here's what I plan to do:

Use my Turtle Beach X42 headset. It's a wireless headset that has a chat-cord that plugs into your controller for communication. However, because it was designed for the Xbox 360, the proprietary chat cord won't work. The good news is that I won't need it -
just the headphones. The wireless headphones receive a signal from a USB input that I can plug into just about anything - including my TV or Xbox One. This way, I can turn my TV's volume all of the way down, mute my TV, or use an auto-mute feature for audio
out connections (such as additional speakers) & simply use my headphones to hear everything. So how will I communicate without the chat-cord? That's easy - the Kinect that comes with every console. With it's noise-cancelling features, it should have no problem
picking up my voice.
