Do you have access to the account that has your old emaild address?

Please be informed that if you're using a Microsoft email address, it cannot be transferred or switched to a different account. We can only switch 3rd party email addresses.

Right. So I had a chat to Xbox Support about it. Turns out that the email I wanted to change to is set as the alternative email for my current account. So I needed to remove the alternative email, wait 30 days (as this was a change to my account so I can't
change emails) and then I can do it.

This is just ludicrous. It shouldn't be that hard to change the email attached to a gamertag.

Youv got no idea how many times iv read through that page and filled out 100 forms. No password...no phone number attached to my yahoo that will send me a verification code...no secondary option to receive it. I have everything els to show i am who
i am and just need to change my email attached to my Microsoft account. It literally just keeps asking for the same things that i dont have. No access to my yahoo..and no attached way of receiving a temp code i have my credit card info that is attached
to my account i have all kinds of stuff. I need a way to change email attached to it so i can transfer my accout over to new xbox thats it

Hi there!

To be sure we understand, are you trying to change the email attached to your current Xbox and Microsoft account?

You should be able to add or
change an email alias as long as it is not attached to another Xbox/Microsoft account.

Keep in mind that Xbox accounts and Microsoft accounts are one and the same and you do not need an account for both.

Do you know if there is a way to merge the accounts then? My old email address, that is also a gmail account, needed to be changed due to security problems. I changed my email and want to be able to keep my Gamertag but using the new email address. My goal is to get all accounts attached to the old email changed to the new one for security reasons. I really appreciate your willingness to answer my questions!
